Training Testimonials:

St John’s Medical Practice

I write to thank you for the invaluable training you have provided to our staff both at the Aberdare and Cardiff sites.  Our staff thoroughly enjoyed the training sessions and found the interaction both educational and fun.  Many staff members are apprehensive around training as they worry they will made to feel or look foolish – this was definitely not the case with your training and everyone came back animated and enthusiastic about the subject.

I would happy to recommend your training to anyone and will be looking to do refresher courses next year.”

Lynwen Francis
Managing Partner

Gwalia Residential Society

“Our Disability Group has thoroughly enjoyed training with Accessible Wales. They have attended twice and both courses have been interactive, enjoyable and informative. They used some great hand outs and most of all they tackled all our questions! We were able to be open and honest and received that in return”

“I am writing this reference for Richard Jones Accessible Wales. Richard is a person who is easily approachable and very knowledgeable. His training is impeccable and you are not made to feel like being in a boardroom or classroom. We had Awareness training from him and he made it easy to understand and you could ask questions right throughout his presentation. Richard has time for the individual and is only too willing to go out of his way to help.”

Yvonne Singleton
Treasurer/Secretary

Celtic Manor Resort

“Richard has delivered a few sessions of Disability Awareness at the Celtic Manor Resort which have been greatly received. The course was most interesting, with plenty of practical scenarios such as being blindfolded and moving around in a wheelchair, which each attendee could take part in and found helpful as well as fun. This is reflected in some of the feedback that has been received.

A brilliant trainer who engaged with everyone and made it enjoyable.
It was all very interesting and well presented.

I enjoyed the role play, wheelchair and visual impaired scenarios and found the use of equipment and tools most helpful.

We look forward to working more closely with Richard in the near future and running more of these sessions.”

“My team of 5 Arts Development Officers, our administrator and myself came on your introductory course just over a year ago. Some of the group had completed disability awareness training before, but I felt it was important for us to revisit this issue as a team.

All our staff thoroughly enjoyed the day and came away with a completely new perspective on the issues faced around access and design for, and public attitude towards, disabled people. The action learning session was an eye opener around the issues of trust and the appropriateness and usefulness of giving help.

In short, it was a very informative and entertaining day for all who took part and Richard, I look forward to the launch of your first video of comedy anecdotes.”

“Several of the high calibre practice managers in our area have attended Accessible Wales Training Courses. The feedback has been extremely positive in that the courses give you an insight into problems encountered by people with disabilities. It encourages you to think about these issues and to consider how to make sites more suited to access for disabled patients.

One of our managers was particularly complementary about Richard Jones, his delivery of the course material and his knowledge of the subject matter. It is felt that the courses are extremely worthwhile and add benefit to the GP practices.”

Access Testimonials:

Mountain Ash YMCA

“Thank you for completing our access audit and mar I first comment on the professional and friendly manner in which your staff acted on behalf of Accessible Wales.

The audit itself was self-explanatory however by actually visiting our premises yourself and taking me through the report made it more personal and your help is much appreciated.

Whilst some of the recommendations may appear to be daunting at first it was encouraging to see that many would take little effort to rectify such as signage or advertising on the notice boards.

Please be sure that I will take you up on your kind offers to assist me in the future with regards to any alterations to our premises and possible sources of funding to do so.”

Mr Dennis Payne

Penywaun Enterprise Partnership

“Accessible Wales undertook an Access Audit at our Cana Centre premises during 2006.

We were impressed with the comprehensiveness of the audit, which went beyond purely statutory requirements and advised us of simple yet effective steps to enhance the general environment from the perspective of people with respective disabilities. Clear signage was one straightforward measure that we implemented to make a noticeable improvement.

If you are considering an access audit, I would recommend Accessible Wales and their ability to tailor audits to suit various requirements and budgets.”

“As one of Accessible Wales’ first clients I am writing to recommend the access auditing service they offer. The audit that was carried out on my business was of a very high standard and I am intending to use their other services in the future especially their access auditing.

Accessible Wales’ staff members are extremely helpful and regularly take time to work with me on any issues I may have. They are currently supporting me on the present alterations I am making to my premises in order to make it more accessible for people with disabilities.

I am more than happy to recommend their services to other people and have done so already, if you have any further queries please do not hesitate to get in contact with me.”

“Richard and his team carried out a thorough and comprehensive audit of the shop premises.

The report highlighted several areas where improvements could be made.  Some of these were implemented immediately at no cost eg. Moving displays to a more convenient location.  Others will take place during the ongoing shop refurbishments.

Accessible Wales employees have been courteous and helpful at all times.”

Cynon Valley Museum

“We can only recommend you on your highly precise and informal report that was written about the Cynon Valley Museum & Gallery.  It contained information to the smallest and to the largest of the problems, and the information how to remedy the problems.  Many companies just criticise, but your company give praise when good working standards are in practice.  We would like to thank you again for all the work that you put into our report and look forward to working with you in the future.”

Cynon Valley Citizen Advice Bureau

“Accessible Wales carried out an access audit of our offices in July 2006.  The work was done efficiently and courteously.  It was very useful to have an informed outside view that pointed out things we would not have thought of, and I would recommend other agencies to do the same.”
